Merit Shop is free enterprise; the belief that all construction contracts should be awarded to the lowest responsible, qualified bidder based on merit, regardless of the company’s non-union or union affiliation. CT ABC is an advocate of Merit Shop contractors and addresses the unique challenges of its members.

Comprised of architectural, engineering, and construction professionals, as well as students and project owners, its members collaborate and innovate to deliver some of America’s most successful projects. DBIA is the industry’s resource for leadership, education, objective expertise and best practices for the successful integrated delivery of capital projects.

[Member] Society for Marketing Professional Services Connecticut, Inc. was created in 1982 by a small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to create business opportunities. SMPS is a diverse community of marketing and business development professionals working together to move the A/E/C industries forward. Their mission is to engage, inspire, and empower professionals for leadership and lifelong learning.

Connecticut Building Congress is committed to strengthening the design and construction industry. CBC creates a forum for building professionals to connect, learn, and grow. It is an organization with representatives from every facet of the building industry; architects, engineers, attorneys, bankers, contractors, developers, consultants, and suppliers.

Building Owners and Managers Association is the leading professional organization dedicated to the needs of building owners, property managers, and trade professionals. BOMA offers a well-rounded program and activities schedule, giving members the opportunity to exchange best practices and hear from industry professionals. 

Construction Management Association of America is an association dedicated to the practice of professional construction management. CMAA members include federal/state/local government and private sector owners, construction consultants, technology suppliers, academia, and legal organizations all with a common goal: to improve our nation’s infrastructure.

Professional Women in Construction is a non-profit organization that seeks to support, advance, and connect women and promote diversity within A/E/C fields and its related industries. PWC programs present industry topics, and provide networking and business development opportunities.
