Diversity Construction Group (DCG) was established in 2011 by James A. Keaney, Jr., a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience managing large construction projects. Over time, James identified several challenges faced by minority-owned firms, with the most significant being the difficulty in generating enough business to cover the necessary overhead costs required to meet the demands of more sophisticated clients.

With the creation of Diversity Construction Group, James aimed to assist small minority-owned contractors by offering business management and administrative support. However, it became clear that DCG could have a greater impact being an advocate for diversity and inclusion by providing general contracting and construction management services.
